This Act removes eligibility for Child Trust Funds for children born from January 2011 onwards. The Act also repeals the legislation providing for the establishment of a Saving Gateway scheme. Finally, the Act removes entitlement to the health in pregnancy grant where a woman reaches the 25th week of her pregnancy on or after 1 January 2011. These measures are part of the deficit-reduction strategy of the Government.
