The Scottish Law Commission is an independent body established by the Law Commissions Act 1965 for the purpose of promoting the development and reform of the law of Scotland. This is the Commission's 41st annual report covering its activities in 2006, during which period it published: reports on the Parliamentary Costs Bill (jointly with the Law Commission), interest on debt and damages, and the conversion of long leases; three discussion papers on the subjects of rape and other sexual offences, personal injury actions, and the nature and constitution of trusts; as well as undertaking a variety of project work under its seventh programme of law reform.
