The Scottish Law Commission is an independent body established by the Law Commissions Act 1965 for the purpose of promoting the development and reform of the law of Scotland. This is the Commission's 39th annual report which covers its activities during 2004, including completion of work on three law reform projects relating to insanity and diminished responsibility, damages for psychiatric injury, and registration of rights in security by companies; as well as ongoing work with regards to land registration and trusts.
