The Bill seeks to ban advertising and promotion of tobacco products, including sponsorship, with certain limited exceptions. It covers: direct advertising including poster, billboards and press advertisements; direct marketing; brandsharing, a form of indirect advertising where non-tobacco products use the branding of a tobacco product for promotional reasons; non-paper media including video and the internet. The Bill does not cover television and radio which are already regulated under the Broadcasting Acts or by other means.
