Incidents involving rescue from road vehicles are dramatically increasing in frequency. There are some 3,500 deaths on the road each year, with 35,000 serious injuries. Modern motor vehicles are becoming safer for occupants, due to advancement in technology, so persons are more likely to survive high impact speeds, but are also more likely to become entrapped.
